What we publish
We publish calculators, guides and reference pages that explain how Indian money rules work, with the working shown. Context comes before calls: we explain what a rule is, what changed and how a number is reached, and we leave the decision to you.
Sourcing
- Every number on a page comes from our dated rules data or from a source named on that page.
- We prefer primary documents: statutes, regulator circulars, exchange circulars and broker charges pages.
- Where we could only find a secondary source, or could not confirm a detail, we say so on the page.
- Worked examples use made-up inputs, are labelled as examples, and are calculated by the same engine as the calculators.
- We use only data we are allowed to show. We do not scrape or republish licensed data.
What we will not do
- Recommend a security, fund, broker or strategy, or say what to buy or sell.
- Publish target prices, tips or promises about future returns.
- Rank brokers or products as best or worst. Our broker pages describe published charges only.
- Let advertising, sponsorship or any commercial tie decide what a page says or what a calculation shows.
How pages are written and reviewed
Pages built from our rules data, such as the broker charge pages, are generated from the data files, so they change when the data changes. Long-form guides are written for a general reader, with jargon explained where it first appears. Some text may be drafted with the help of AI tools. Nothing is published until a person has read and approved it, and the person is responsible for what it says.
Dates and updates
Each guide shows when it was first published and when it was last updated, and each rate shows when it was last checked. When a rule changes, we update the data first and then the pages that use it.
Corrections
We correct errors in the open. A fixed error is added to the corrections page with the date and what changed. To report one, use the contact page. Our approach to rates is described in the methodology.
